Today we’re featuring Julien Carmignani, a Software Developer currently working on our new suite of Zero Trust security products for enterprises running on Salesforce.

Q: Tell us about what you do here at Odaseva

A: I am a Software Developer specializing in Salesforce technology, but I like to describe myself as a ‘Jack of All Trades’ because I enjoy exploring new technologies. My role at Odaseva is to bring new features to life on our platform. I interact with the front-end developers who build the user experience and the back-end team that ensures the system runs smoothly.

I also like to get involved in the feature design phase, an interest that stems from my previous job as a Technical Project Manager. This allows me to ensure a seamless integration of new features by working closely with all the teams involved.

Q: What’s the team that you work with like?

A: I am currently part of the Zero Trust Suite team, working on Security products.

What I enjoy most about this team is collaborating with bright colleagues and being deeply involved in building this new security offering. If you’re like me and always eager to learn new things, this is the perfect team for you.

We live and breathe Zero Trust every day, and everything is designed collaboratively within the team. We are developing new features with a security-first approach. It’s rewarding that customers can trust Odaseva to keep their sensitive data secure, since even Odaseva doesn’t have access to the data in clear text.

Q: Why did you join Odaseva?

A:  In 2020, I was looking to transition from a Project Manager role to a more technical position. As a customer and user of the Odaseva platform, I was already familiar with the company. While browsing job boards, I found an opening for a Salesforce Administrator.

I was thrilled by the opportunity to join Odaseva, a company that would fully immerse me in the Salesforce ecosystem and allow me to work alongside some of the most accomplished Salesforce experts in the industry. This excitement was reinforced during the interview process, which ultimately led me to decide to join the team.

Q: What do you like about working at Odaseva?

A: What I really appreciate about Odaseva is the opportunity to learn so much in various areas, including DevOps, Administration, and Development. Odaseva also supports me in my goal to become a Certified Technical Architect (CTA), which is still a work in progress.

As a Salesforce developer, I have the chance to go beyond my role and contribute to the product by adding features I would love to have as a customer/user. I also love the team spirit and the atmosphere in the office, which makes working here a truly enjoyable experience.

Q: How did you come to join the Salesforce ecosystem?

A: I entered the Salesforce ecosystem seven years ago during my final engineering internship at General Electric. Although I knew I was joining the Commercial IT team, I had no prior knowledge of Salesforce or, more broadly, what a CRM was.

Q: What’s your proudest work-related accomplishment or project?

A: That’s a really difficult question. I always try to put a little bit of myself into everything I do. I think my proudest accomplishment has been transitioning from the Odaseva Platform to the new Zero Trust suites. It wasn’t easy at first, with a lot of self-reflection, but today I’m really happy with the team and what we’ve achieved in terms of product development in just a few months. I’m really excited about what’s coming next for this security offering.

Q: What else can you tell us about yourself?

A: I enjoy baking pastries, especially cannelés, which are highly requested by many of my colleagues at the Paris office. 

I’m also a history enthusiast and love exploring it through various mediums such as series, podcasts, and travel. A great trip for me involves immersing myself in a country’s history and experiencing its local culinary specialties.
